COVID19 INFO below
Help us help others
We have been finding food (and remnants) left outside our door, after hours. This
is an invitation to the animals in the neighborhood and blocks the sidewalk for our neighbours.
We really appreciate the generosity of our Stouffville community and just want your donation to go to our families. We have asked for financial donations but wedon't refuse food that is not expired, during our hours of operation.
Donating online is a quick simple option. Your dollars are the best way you can help.
OPEN Mondays and Wednesdays 9:30 to noon.

How You Can Help Your Foodbank
This year, the Whitchurch Stouffville Food Bank is asking for financial and gift card donations, instead of cans and non-perishable foods.
In this current COVID situation, we want to minimize the exposure of our families, donors and volunteers, so we are asking you to help us do that by donating online.
Now, one of our current landlords is making a change, and as a result, we must consolidate operations into half of our warehouse space. For the foreseeable future we are keeping inventory low and using your donations to shop at local businesses to ensure complete food orders for our families.
Your financial donations allow us to buy the most needed items in the best quantities.
Donating online is fast and easy https://wsfoodbank.ca/donate. You will still receive the same tax receipt for personal donations.
Is your group considering a Food Drive? This year consider a toonie drive, gift card drive or challenge your members to a fundraising drive or event like a walk or run, etc. Please contact us for a list of items in short supply.
Note - IN-STORE purchased food donations from local vendors with WSFB bins (Metro and No Frills) are still accepted.
The support from our community during these challenging times has been tremendous. We appreciate all of your donations - monetary, gift card and food items from local individuals, businesses, groups, churches and schools.
Connect with us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/wsfoodbank/ and Twitter @FoodWs for the latest information and activity.
The WSFB is 100% volunteer run and managed. Since 1990, we have been serving Whitchurch Stouffville offering food to those in need in our community in a caring non-judgmental way. September 30.2020
Change in Donations - Food Donations no longer accepted -September 8th
Fall is nearly here and under normal circumstances we would be preparing for large food donations, as members of the community carry out food drives to replenish our shelves.
However, as we are aware this is not a normal fall, today we are faced with a global pandemic of COVID 19 and we are being asked to protect ourselves, practice social distancing and isolate ourselves to help lower the transmission of this terrible virus.
Effective immediately we will no longer accept direct food donations to the WSFB facility.
PLEASE continue supporting the Food Bank and your community through monetary donations or grocery gift cards ONLY until further notice.
TO DONATE: https://wsfoodbank.ca/donate
Note - IN-STORE purchased food donations from local vendors, Metro and No Frills are accepted at our Food Bank bins in these stores.
The WSFB has been providing services to our community since 1990.
We have relied on the generosity of local vendors and merchants for decades.
Your donated funds are spent locally to source food and services to operate the Food Bank.
All Food Bank Volunteers, Managers and Board Members are unpaid.
We provide food assistance to all in need in a supportive and non-judgmental way.
COVID19 – WSFB Operations Update - September
At the Whitchurch Stouffville Food Bank, our top priority is the well-being of our clients, volunteers, donors and the community at large. In order to keep serving you, the Food Bank has taken a number of proactive measures, in consultation with York Region Public Health, to reduce the risk of COVID19 transmission in and around our facility.
These steps include:
· Limiting entry into our premises
· Providing volunteers with additional space for sorting. The use of masks and rubber gloves is enforced while handling food.
· Providing clients with standard, prepared orders
At this time, due to the need for physical distancing, we are not allowing non-volunteers into our building.
New Clients can call (905) 591- 4443 to be helped through the intake process by one of our volunteers. When you come to pick up your order, you will be asked to show identification with proof of residence. We are only able to assist those who are residents of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
Financial donations are very helpful at this time, as they reduce the need for our volunteers to sort goods. Donate online at https://wsfoodbank.ca/donate
We also encourage you to visit the York Region Health Department website for the latest information and community updates on COVID-19. www.york.ca or the Ministry of Health at https://www.ontario.ca/page/2019-novel-coronavirus
We will continue to monitor this situation as it evolves and advise you of any announcements.
